1932 to 1969
In the year 1932
our grandfather and pioneer Hans Straßhofer bought the "Walisgaden" with his wife Elsa. He had a flair for the most beautiful spot in Damüls. This was followed by accommodation and catering for guests and friends.
In 1969
his son Hanspeter Straßhofer and his wife Heide Marie Straßhofer took over the Walisgaden. They converted it into an inn in the 3-star category. Heide Marie Straßhofer achieved fame not only as an ambitious hostess, but also with her home-made cakes far beyond the borders of the country.

1998
The Dorfblick house with three holiday flats was added.
2001
the neighbouring house Chiara was added.
2004
the old Walisgaden was demolished. The building was rebuilt and taken over by daughter Heike Straßhofer-Madlener and Ingo Madlener. The two ambitious hosts continuously adapted and renovated the rooms, the restaurant, the kitchen and the umbrella bar.

2016
The construction of a winter-safe road with a tunnel and the hotel's own underground car park for 50 parking spaces was carried out exclusively with own funds.
2019
this was followed by the construction of the breathtaking Sky Lounge and the remodelling of the check-in area. But after the renovation is before the expansion. That's why things went from strength to strength over the next few years!

2021-2022
Our new building and extension with the monti suites and the monti SPA opened in December 2022! The monti suites inspire in 3 sizes and designs as monti comfort rooms, monti chalet suites and monti wellness suites. Perhaps the highest wellness area far and wide, our monti SPA extends over 2 floors and invites you to chill out in the sky pool with panoramic views as well as to enjoy the sauna with a wide variety of heat parlours, several relaxation rooms, a massage room and a lounge!
